Harvesting the Wind: INWEST Project

A new project is under way for developing a small-scale wind turbine for Cyprus conditions; Investigation of the wind energy potential for small-scale technology development (INWEST) project is sponsored by MIKNATIS ArGe in Turkey.

The turbine and its blades are to be manufactured by using local facilities, However the operation of the wind turbine needs to be tested and outcome derived needs to be used for building a well refined machine. The ultimate objective is to help the economy of N. Cyprus by promoting a new market that will create new jobs. If this is successfully achieved, policies can be developed
